DIY Art
If you have been following along for a while you know that we renovated our basement and I am in the process of decorating! I knew that I wanted to do a few gold frames at the bottom of the stairs and as you walk into the basement from our garage. I love following Emily Clark for inspiration and she has a post on her blog about some of her framed art in her home that I used for inspiration. I loveddd this emperor book she posted about, I purchased the book and pulled three pages out of it to be framed. I am so happy with the finished product!
I am not even going to lie, I stalked the internet looking for metal frames that were good quality and I came across these at Target and I absolutely love them! We have a lot of antiques in our home and I like mixing old and new so I thought these would be a modern twist with our antiques. These frames come in many sizes but ours are 16x20.
Hobby Lobby can cut mats for you in the store out of many different colors so I had them help me with the mats for these frames. They charged $14 to cut a 16x20 mat with about a 4.5x6.5 opening.
We painted our basement a bright white so it’s so nice to finally have some colors on the walls! I have quite a few more areas to decorate in the bedroom and bathroom but I am almost done with the den area of the living room… still working on what’s going over the couch but we have made big progress! Stay tuned!
