Willens Reno {Part 3}

Hi friends!

This is the third and final post showing all of the details for our renovation! I don’t know about you but I feel like it takes a lot of time to get things settled whenever you move into a new home or after a renovation. We lived in our house for about a year and a half before we started our renovation. We knew we were going to do a renovation so honestly, I left a lot of things in boxes because I didn’t want to have to have to unpack twice. It took me a good bit of time to figure out out where to place everything but I am so happy that our renovation is finally completed and things have found their “home”.

We have enjoyed having things in their place and love how open our living room and den is. We spend so much time sitting at our island with family & friends and enjoy cooking in our new kitchen. I think my favorite part is the layout, we obsessively planned where we wanted things to go and I am happy with how the planning turned out. Josh and his team worked tirelessly to make sure every detail was just how I envisioned and I am so thankful for their patience and attention to detail!

One aspect I didn’t post a lot about in the previous two posts was our fireplace. We absolutely hated the stone on the fireplace and couldn’t wait to to get rid of it. Josh had the idea to do a limestone fireplace and when he showed me pictures I loved it. We worked with a local company to design what we were envisioning and due to how fragile and porous the limestone is it was the last thing we did so I don’t have many progress pictures. Here is the fireplace styled two ways… if I am being honest, I LOVE the fireplace but the mirror doesn’t do much for me. These is your first view when you walk into our home and I am on the hunt for a big fabulous mirror. Someday :)

We felt like one non-negotiable when we decided to do our renovation was to fit a powder room into our renovation space. We stressed about how we were going to fit a powder room AND a laundry room in this little space and it all worked out. I would be lying if I didn’t lay awake at night worry about this sink not fitting in it’s spot (what a thing to obsess about huh?! Yes, I am crazy!) but it all worked out - the hundreds of measurements Josh took to show me it was going to fit perfectly paid off! This little powder room is a glam little thing and I am happy with how it turned out. I must say, I feel like the walls need some big, fabulous framed artwork, some funky towels and jazzy sconce shades buttttt one thing at a time right?!

Oh, the small and mighty laundry room. I was so happy to find this little runner on Wayfair, it’s amazing what an expensive $30 rug can do for a space. I think it warms it up and adds some happy to colors this little space.

Okay, there you have it! I don’t know if you are ever “finished” with a space but this is as finished as we are going to be for a while because I am moving onto the basement and WHOA girl there was so much work to be done down there. I will recap all we did down there and my plans for the space.

Thanks for reading!
